Coach Monte has been part of the New Hampshire Lightning coaching staff for several seasons, at both the 12U and 14U levels, and serves on the New Hampshire Lightning Board of Directors. Her past coaching experience includes over a decade with the Merrimack Magic USA Softball program, as well as the Merrimack Youth Association (MYA) Softball Board, as the Majors Director, working with female athletes at the 12U age division.

An athlete herself, Coach Monte was the starting catcher for her Bedford High School (MA) Varsity Softball team all four years she attended. She captained the team her junior and senior years and was Dual County League and a Lowell Sun All-Star throughout her high school career. She also participated in the National Girls & Women in Sports Day, in Boston, MA during her senior year. In 2013, she was inducted into the Bedford High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Coach Carla played ASA competitive travel softball for the Stoneham Express before playing softball at NCAA Division II Post University. At Post, Coach Monte captained her team for three years and was a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Academic All-American.

Coach Monte competes in a coed modified pitch softball league when she’s not coaching.
